About

Coming soon, a refresh of the WSTA Meet The Team page with more detail on how we can help you and your businesses using our in-house skills and expertise.

The Magistrate - Don’t let her dulcet Welsh tones lull you into a false sense of security.

Kelly brings calm authority, common sense and a refreshingly straight-talking style to the world of wine and spirit compliance. Armed with a background in Trading Standards, she hands down clear, practical advice on complex regulations — helping WSTA members cut through the noise and keep labelling, licensing, excise and data protection simple, clear and surprisingly palatable.

If she were a drink, what would she be?

A Classic Daiquiri — just three ingredients, perfectly balanced. Clean, sharp and straightforward, it proves that simplicity is often the best approach. Much like Kelly’s compliance advice, it cuts through complexity, balances the heavy details with a touch of sweetness and leaves members with a clear, refreshing route forward.

Point of contact for regulatory advice, labelling, licensing, weights and measures, excise issues, Primary Authority, Retail of Alcohol Standards, low- and no-alcohol and British Wine.

Kelly works alongside Nicole, forming the ultimate compliance duo, empowering members to make confident, risk-based decisions that are right for their businesses.

Kelly leads the WSTA’s:

  • Retail of Alcohol Standards Group (RASG)
  • Digital Proof of Age Working Group

If you aren’t on one of these and should be, sign up now!

Think of her as your Ally McBeal, the hard working legal eagle, imaginative and loyal. Kelly is keeping on top of all the legal jargon, so you don’t have to.
