Next week, the WSTA is hosting a webinar with DIT to hear from their in-market experts on how to export wines and spirits to Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, and what the latest trends are in each of these fast growing markets in terms of what people are drinking, where, and how drinks are being marketed and promoted.

Latin America has been recognized as one of the fastest growing regions with high potential for UK alcoholic drinks exports, with Mexico in particular being seen as one of the new ‘go to’ markets for gin exporters. Last year’s achievement of a continuity deal between the UK and Mexico means British gin producers will continue to have tariff free access to the market into the future without a return to 20% tariffs.

The value of gin exports to Mexico in 2019 was £6.3m. This was an increase of 43% on the previous year’s figure (£4.4m in 2018) which in turn was an increase of 26% on the previous year’s value (£3.5m in 2017). Equally, British gin exports to Brazil have seen explosive growth, from just £2.5m in 2017, to £8.9m in 2019.

We invite all interested parties to register and find out more about these most exciting markets for wine and spirit exports. There will also be a chance to ask questions of the presenters following the presentation, and details of how you can get in touch with the Embassies for increased support when attempting to enter the markets.

You will be able to access the full recording and slides using the following link. The link is password protected – the password can be found in the post-webinar email follow-up.
