Hosted by the Luján de Cuyo DOC, and chaired by Tim Atkin MW, this technical masterclass at the Institute of Masters of Wine will explore Argentina’s historic Luján de Cuyo DOC — the first protected designation of origin established in the Americas.
The session will be led by key figures from the region, including Martin Kaiser (Director of Viticulture and Winemaking at Doña Paula), Pablo Cuneo (Winemaker at Luigi Bosca), and Cristian Linares (Director of Viticulture at Trivento).
The masterclass will begin with a technical seminar examining sub-appellations within Luján de Cuyo, featuring comparative barrel samples to illustrate the nuances of terroir expression across the DOC. This will be followed by a walkaround tasting of commercial wines from member wineries, providing a broader perspective on style, structure and ageing potential.
