The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) invites Expressions of Interest from 15-20 UK alcohol producers to participate in a trade mission to Delhi and Mumbai, culminating in participation at ProWine Mumbai 2026, India’s leading trade fair for wines and spirits.
India is one of the world’s most exciting growth markets for alcoholic beverages, driven by a young consumer base, rising incomes, rapid urbanisation, and increasing demand for premium spirits and wines. The Indian alcoholic beverages market is forecast to exceed £75 billion by 2030, creating significant opportunities for UK brands.
The UK-India Free Trade Agreement, which entered into force on 15 July 2026, creates new opportunities for UK alcohol producers through improved market access and progressive tariff reductions on qualifying UK whisky and gin. Establishing commercial relationships now will help UK brands capitalise on future growth.
