Join wine expert and Australian wine enthusiast Joe Wadsack to explore two of Victoria’s flagship wine varietals – Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

During this 75-minute session you’ll taste six exceptional wines and learn how Victoria’s unique terroir, altitude, climate and winemaking expertise come together to produce wines that rival Old World classics.

Located in the far southeast corner of Australia and home to over 800 wineries, Victoria is the country’s smallest, yet most diverse mainland state and one of the world’s greatest sources for both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

One of the most impactful factors is the effect of the chilly waters and bracing winds from the Southern Ocean that not only moderate the coastline wine regions but also reach into the interior, keeping the vines cool in the hot months, and warm in the cool months.

This, and the unique combination of soil, aspect, temperature and a deep-rooted passion for these two Burgundian varieties among Victoria’s winemaking families has led to the creation of some world-class examples.

If Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley, Geelong, Gippsland, Macedon Ranges, Beechworth, and Strathbogie Ranges are not part of your Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vocabulary, they should be. They offer a world of discovery like no other.
