Introductory course: Württemberg & Rheinhessen, Germany

The Institute of Masters of Wine is organising an introductory course to be held in Württemberg, Germany in April 2020.
The course will be led by a number of Masters of Wine. They will explain the MW approach to the examination syllabus with a special focus on the writing and tasting skills required to become a Master of Wine. The class will include several tastings of different wines from different regions of the world.
Evening dinners and additional tastings offered by the VDP.Die Prädikatsweingüter will take place throughout the programme and and attendees will have the chance to extend their stay to attend the VDP.Weinbörse which takes place in Mainz. It is the largest international fair for fine German wines. Participants of the introductory course are very welcome to stay one night (26 April) longer by invitation of the VDP.Prädikatsweingüter. There are no prerequisites for participants to register for this course, although wine industry professionals with high level wine qualifications are encouraged.
Attendees who are eligible to join the MW study programme in June 2020 will be given a discounted rate from the normal application fee.

Location: Württemberg region, Franconia & Rheinhessen region and Mainz, Germany*
Open to: Interested professionals who are highly motivated in relation to the wine world and the culture of wine. The whole class will be given in English. Meeting the requirements for the MW study programme is not a prerequisite for attending the weekend. However, attendees wishing to be considered for entry to the MW study programme must meet the entrance requirements – see here for more information.
Fees: €750 VAT inclusive (an invoice will be issued on registration) – including three nights’ accommodation (on 23/24/25 April) in Weinsberg/Württemberg and Mainz/Rheinhessen and shuttle from and to Frankfurt airport (arrival: afternoon of 23 April and departure: late afternoon on 26 April or early morning 27 April)
