D.O. Rías Baixas: Food + Wine Masterclass

On Tuesday, 16 May 2023, D.O. Rías Baixas is inviting the Scottish Trade to attend an exciting ‘Food + Wine Masterclass’ where they will explore a varied selection of wines from the region to be tasted alongside specially crafted Japanese dishes, from Edinburgh’s Award Winning Japanese Restaurant – Kanpai Sushi.
During this intimate tasting, Spanish Wine Educators, Isobel Salamon and Miguel Crunia, will lead attendees through an exploratory masterclass about the region where they will canvass topics including:
- Where Rías’s Baixas is, it’s historical importance and regional development,
- The unique terroir, local grapes, winemaking techniques and styles produced;
- The role small winemakers play for the region;
- Modern day developments;
- How local Sommelier’s use these wines and their overall gastronomic potential,
- and much much more.
This is a food and wine sensory experience that’s set to fire up the senses, boost creativity and generate excitement.
Following the Masterclass there will be a carefully curated walk around tasting, featuring additional bottles from the region, which guests are welcome to taste at their leisure.
