CEO Opportunity – Exton Park Vineyard

Following the retirement announcement of the current CEO, Robin McMillan, Exton Park Vineyard is seeking a commercially astute, entrepreneurial CEO to lead one of the UK wine industry’s most prestigious estates and deliver the Founder’s vision of a true “Beacon of Excellence” in English Sparkling Wine.
Reporting to the Chair and working closely with Trustees and the Board, the CEO will strengthen Exton’s premium positioning, accelerate growth and profitability, and reduce reliance on Trustee funding. The mandate is clear: build a financially independent, cash-generative business that fully leverages the vineyard, winery, reserve assets and Exton Hall.
Commitment is three days per week, Exton-based, with five direct reports across Commercial, Vineyard, Winemaking, Finance & Operations, and Marketing.
The role requires ownership of the five-year strategy, disciplined financial leadership, margin enhancement, and return on assets, alongside driving commercial growth through the Mentzendorff distribution partnership, DTC expansion, direct trade sales, export, and Hall and events revenue.
The CEO will be financially astute and relationship-driven, with the credibility to operate confidently at Board level and unite stakeholders behind a clear path to independence and long-term value creation.
We are seeking an experienced CEO or General Manager (five+ years) from wine, spirits or a premium consumer brand, with a proven record of delivering profitable, cash-generative growth and operating credibly at Board level.
This is a rare opportunity to lead one of England’s most distinctive sparkling wine estates at an important stage in its development.
